Yes. It’s May 1st. This is the time I proudly introduce the new CSS on this blog. Not only this blog, but many blogs out there are doing the same. We’re the participants of Spring 2007 CSSReboot event. ![]()
So, what is it all about?
The CSS Reboot is a community event for web professionals and enthusiasts. Every November 1st and May 1st at 18:00 GMT, Rebooters from all over the world launch their standards based website redesigns simultaneously; bringing traffic, interest and a little respect to their sites. There are no prizes or arbitrary winners, just great exposure and the knowledge that we all participated in something great.
Like I told you yesterday, I had many things to do in this month. The S thing was sucking all my resources. So I was running out resources for doing this work. This is not my best work but I’ve done all my best. I hope you like it. ![]()
Of course I didn’t rewrite all the code. That is real web developer’s job!
Since I’m just a dummy and lamer, I just modified the old template. The other reason is I still like the old template. The colors are comfortable in my eyes. ![]()
There are some minor changes I’ve made. They are:
- A resized random picture from gallery was moved from bottom to top under the header
- Menu bar was moved to upper place
- Miniblog plugin was (half) implemented, it will be activated if needed
- The tagline from “Dijamin Capek! Bacanya” was changed to “Blog tentang jalan-jalan, kuliner, traveling, kisah hidup, dan lain-lain“
- A small statistic information was added in bottom of the page
- Search form was moved to top
It supposed to be launched tomorrow. But why did I launch it just now?
The event was started in May 1st at 18:00 GMT. The purpose was getting all participants launched the design at the same time. Because we’re living in Indonesia, we differ 7 hours to GMT. After counting the time, May 1st at 18:00 GMT is equal to May 2nd at 01:00 WIB.
I don’t want to get online at 01:00 o’clock in the morning!
So, I used the Indonesian time.
May 1st at 18:00 WIB! ![]()
Doing this things were refreshing my mind after couple nights doing the fuckin S thing.
And I think it is interesting and useful for a lamer and dummy like me to learn something called web standards.
Please enjoy it. And of course, your feedbacks are welcome! ![]()
